Archerfield, QLD
Introducing the largest hangar complex at Archerfield Airport – the LifeFlight Clive Berghofer Maintenance Centre.
Previously operating out of a facility built in 1940, the tenant was in desperate need of a larger, state-of-the-art facility to support their growing fleet. Spanning almost 5,000m², this facility is also the largest in LifeFlight’s network, developed in partnership with long-term Spaceframe clients, Archerfield Airport Corporation. Featuring four dedicated hangars, associated office and warehouse storage, this facility has more than doubled the tenant’s previous workable space, allowing for the ability to house nine helicopters and one jet at the same time.
Every aircraft used by the organisation is rotated through the facility for major inspections unable to be performed at other bases, making “the LifeFlight Clive Berghofer Maintenance Centre the epicentre of our maintenance operation” (Lee Schofield, LifeFlight Australia Chief Operating Officer, 2024).
